Meet the Creators
Hi! We’re Amir Cohen and Rabbi Shalom Lebowitz, and we’re the passionate team behind Torah Toons.
As educators and parents ourselves, we’ve seen firsthand how challenging it can be to engage young children with traditional Torah learning. We watched beautiful, wise teachings from our heritage struggle to capture the attention of kids who were naturally drawn to colorful stories, visual adventures, and characters they could relate to.
That’s when our passion project was born. We became determined to find a way to make Torah learning as exciting and engaging for children as their favorite comic books and stories. We asked ourselves: Why should ancient wisdom feel distant when it could feel as close and relevant as a child’s own neighborhood?
Why We Started Torah Toons
Our mission is simple but profound: we want to ignite a genuine love for Torah in the hearts of young children by making learning fun, visual, and personally meaningful. We believe that when children can see themselves in the stories they read—when Torah principles come alive in familiar places like their local pizza shop or synagogue—something magical happens. Learning transforms from obligation into adventure.
Our Approach
Familiar Settings, Timeless Wisdom
Every Torah Toons story is carefully crafted to feature recognizable local landmarks, beloved community gathering places, and characters that reflect the diversity of Jewish life today. When a child reads about a Torah idea being applied at their neighborhood bakery or learns about kindness through a story set in their own shul, the learning becomes personal and memorable.
Natural Learning Through Entertainment
We’ve discovered that when children are genuinely engaged and entertained, learning happens effortlessly. Our young readers don’t just study Jewish texts—they experience them, laugh with them, and internalize their messages through the power of visual narrative.
Personalized Jewish Education
Understanding that every Jewish family and community is unique, we offer customized comics that reflect your specific traditions, values, and local environment. Regardless of how you and your family practice Judaism, Torah Toons can be tailored to speak directly to your children’s world.
Our Vision
We envision a generation of Jewish children who don’t see Torah learning as separate from their daily lives, but as an integral part of who they are. Through Torah Toons, we’re not just teaching Jewish concepts—we’re nurturing Jewish identity, fostering curiosity, and planting seeds for a lifetime of meaningful connection to our heritage.
Our Promise
Every issue of Torah Toons is created with love, respect for tradition, and a deep understanding of how children learn best. We’re committed to producing content that parents trust, educators value, and—most importantly—children genuinely enjoy.
We believe that when learning is joyful, wisdom takes root. When stories feel familiar, lessons become lasting. And when children see themselves reflected in tales of Jewish values and teachings, they develop not just knowledge, but a genuine love for their heritage.
